Affenpinscher

Affenpinscher is a small dog, also known by other name Affen, was once used to hunt vermins by human. But now are friend/partners of mankind. The look of this breed is similar to monkey.Because of their monkey like look, Affenpinscher are known as Monkey -Terrier in German. This breed of dog is fun loving and a bit naughty also. But they are cutes only when they feel safe from others. In case of any danger, they can easily get angry. The general behavior shown by this breed is that these are self confident. But a trained Affenpinscher would be a great idea if compared to untrained one. They love their owners , but equally hate strangers. But with proper training of puppy, this aggression can be reduced.
These are playful. They are good choice for old dog lovers as well as new ones. But as stated above, they need training. They are very agile creatures.

Affenpinscher are not suitable as companion to small children, as may cause harm to them.

The historical data suggests the Affenpinscher was first found in Europe. They found place in houses in central europe because they ate mice. Hence people found them useful and made permanent companion. Few paintings of 17 century from Europe tells us their presence in man's territory. Affenpinscher are originally from the Germany. The other two ancestors of the Affenpinscher are the Griffon Belge and the Griffon Bruxellosis, both had monkey like faces.Affenpinscher are said to existed in two forms few centuries ago. One is the bigger in size, and other smaller. Bigger ones are now extinct , while smaller ones are now companion of man. The smaller ones are also known as toy terrier.

The heigh of a grown Affenpinscher is 9 to 12 inches. Lenght and height are equal .The weight of this breed of dogs varies from 3 kg to 4 kg. The head of Affenpinscher is very small as compared to the size of their body. Life expectancy of Affenpinscher is 10 to 12 years.

More About Lions

The lion is most muscular and powerful among the cats. The other name of lion is the Panthera leo, and it belongs to category Panthera. Some reports say the average weight of the males is the 250 kg. Doesnt matter, what I have written in previous posts, this information is latest to me.There are mainly two breeds of lion, one is Asian or Indian lion , now found only in Gir National Park, Gujrat, and the other is the African lion found in the Saharan areas of Africa.Approximately ten thousand years back, the lion was second most populous creature after mankind on earth. There privileged areas were almost full African continent, most parts of Europe and Russia to India. Lion had their presence in America as well, in the parts of Peru.

Average age of lion is 13 years in jungle and in human custody , it goes to 20 years in many cases. In jungle, male is needed to arrange for the meal, and in fights , he eventually reduces his energy and life span gets reduced in his case to only ten years. Male lion are characterized by thick brown black hair encircling the head. Male and female roar can be heard from 8 kilometers in jungle.

Another behavior of female lion is well treatment to the cubs.Mothers help the young at every moment in nurturing.
Group hunting makes them possible hence the buffaloes, rhinos, hippos and girrafes are vulnerable to such groups. Female lion makes 80% of the total hunts done by the group.

The amazing characteristic, which distinguishes lion from other cats is its nature of being social. Their tendency to live in groups is more than any other cat breed. A lion is a group leader to few females, offspring, young males.Females usually hunt, in large groups.Regarding the taste of human blood, it is believed that lion until lion hasn't tasted it, it stays away, but once lion has tasted human blood, lion cant resist for it.

But the king of jungle is now struggling for its very existence. About forty percent of the population has been reduced in the last two decades in Africa. In the African continent , the lions remained a few only. But now sincere efforts have been started. Zoos all over the world are making possible the movement to save this species.

Dogs : History and Biography

Dog has been most favorite pet of mankind and is also the largest in numbers, adopted as pet animal. As we have discussed previously, dogs are made domestic for various reasons , like it fulfills the human's requirement for friends, many times for safety, many times for a partner, for hunting , as detective agent etc. So , this creature serves variety of purposes. I read on on a page, that dogs are also used in therapies treating psychology patients. Its one of the best use of this creature for serving the life.
Dog was evolved from a similar creature wolf, and perhaps due to domesticization, its dangerous behaviour got reduced. A skull found in Belgium , shows the signs of transition of the dog from the wolf.

It is believed that dogs are the descendants of the gray wolf. . Not sure whether it were the wolves who came to men , or it was the men who approached them, but this marriage was a win -win deal for both.Man used to feed the wolf, and in turn, wolf served men for hunting as well as provided security. And those times , there were not too much breeds of the dogs were there, but as this animal got encouraged towards life , from the support of human, it began to develop in different breeds depending upon the climate, feed etc. As a result, now there are more than 400 breeds of dogs exists on earth, with 155 among them are being popular across continents.
Infact, man is responsible for such a variety of breeeds of dogs. Man make dogs of different breeds have intercourse, so that a new breed of his desire can be created. But one day, man will have to sure pay for this game with the nature. In short term, man is winner, but the nature is supreme and men has to understand, it just cant beat this supreme.

Though, now lets come again on the main topic,Europe was the first to evidence the relationship of man and dog.Its shocking, that in some sites of Germany, graves of ancient man found, with dog also buried in it. Date of such graves is around 14,000 years. Which suggests, it was the time, when dogs were highly used as domestic animals. The process of domesitcisation of dogs can be perceived to around 30,000 years back.

Kinds of Pet Animals

Let us now discuss something more about pet animals. We have developed hobby of having domestic animals. For few people, its the way to find a good friend in the animals. Besides a good friend, people often want to have a pet to overcome the problem of lonilness. With their playful nature and with their cute and charming characterstics, few animals are now favorite pets for the people. With their playing and sporty attributes, few animals have became most attractive partners to human beings. Any animal can be a pet, like there are people who have made snakes and even crocodiles a pet. But this is a obsession for the wild life. The common friends are small creatures like dogs , cats and rabbits etc. Birds also find important place in homes. Like, parrot is the first choice while considering a pet bird. Infact, they are able to speak some sentences like human beings.Other common pet birds include cockatoos, mynahs, love-birds etc.
There are certain categories of animals, which are considered branded pets. These are very rare and beautiful .Some birds , and dogs of few breeds are supposed to be valuable pets and owning them is also a expensive job, as their feed is sometimes more than man, both in quality and quantity.

Though, despite all others, dogs are considered most common pets and also friends of men. They are also considered very loyal towards their owners. Their behavior is very common, that is , loyal to owner and angry to the strangers. But few breeds of dogs are very soft, and small, like puppy, and is often used as a gift to the women, as they symbolises the soft character. Second common pet is the cat. Cat is often found in household. It makes me remember the famous cartoon show Tom and Jerry, where the Thomas or the tom was made frustrated by the rat Jerry. However, the cats are usually made pet by kids, women and all those who are soft hearted, and need to find a friend. The control of the cat is comparitively easy as compared to other ones.

The most sporty and perhaps, the first pet of human are the horses. It was the times when mankind made horse pet because of needs. But now the sole use of horse has became its deployment of its sporty character. Though , there are certain places where the horses are still employed for performing work. Mostly in rural areas, horses are used for travelling as well frieght carriers. There are enthusiats who make reptiles like snakes also a pet.
